The University of the Pacific (UOP) is located in Stockton,
California. The stunning campus with residential halls
and fraternity and sorority houses has featured in many
Hollywood films. In 2008, the university opened new
University and Biological Sciences Centers, providing
advanced classroom and laboratory facilities for students
studying natural and health sciences.
UOP has nine schools and colleges. UOP also has six professional schools, a graduate school, and an adult re-entry division. The campuses at Sacramento and San Francisco campus house the McGeorge School of Law and Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry respectively.
UOP offers more than 80 undergraduate areas of study and a continuing education program, providing numerous opportunities for research and real-world, hands-on experience, working closely with faculty members. The University sponsors a number of Centers and Institutes, and students have many opportunities to participate in community programs and research, making connections for the future.
The UOP community defines student success as acquiring knowledge and skills; achievement; engagement beyond the classroom; and developing foundations for a personally and socially responsible life. UOP’s Student Academic Support Services offer success coaching through one-toone or group sessions in time management, study skills, note-taking and much more, and connect with the students and put them in contact with the appropriate campus or community resource.
You can head west for the coast and San Francisco, or east into the mountains for skiing and hiking. There are dozens of clubs, professional organizations, and academic activities On campus too, whether you’re looking for a political cause, a way to meet people of your faith or ethnicity, or simply want a snowboarding partner.
UOP has its own movie theater, museum, several gymnasiums, fitness center, live theatrical performances, concert hall, and even a small student-oriented nightclub that hosts local bands and comedians. There are top-notch athletic games On campus just about every weekend.
