"A degree from Auburn University (AU) is an investment in the future. Auburn offers an exceptional education and countless opportunities to have a fun and fulfilling college experience at an affordable cost."
Many universities offer comprehensive degrees and
impressive academic rankings, so what makes Auburn
University (AU) so different? At AU, students will feel
connected to their peers from the time they arrive On
campus until they graduate.
Our students describe the atmosphere as “just like family.” Even after they’ve set off to begin a career, they are forever part of the AU Family and have a network of nearly 300,000 alumni across the world to help them succeed.
AU is a small city with a mild climate and big opportunities. AU’s downtown area includes a variety of restaurants and shops and is within walking distance of the campus. In a 10-minute drive, students can visit a 16-screen movie theatre, a shopping mall, or play 90 holes of golf. A few miles from campus, Chewacla State Park has 696 acres of hiking and camping.
Alabama offers fun day trip options, including relaxing on the beaches of the Gulf Coast or checking out the restaurants, shops, and nightlife in Birmingham. Atlanta, Georgia, the largest city in the Southeast, is just 1.5 hours away. Atlanta is home to the nation’s busiest airport (making it easy for students to fly home when they need to), and more than a dozen Fortune 500 companies.
Major manufacturing industries in Alabama include electronics, textiles, and automobiles. Hyundai and its sister company, Kia, the fourth-largest automaker in the world, have U.S. operations in Alabama. These companies have brought thousands of well-paying jobs to the region. AU understands that for international students, the move from high school in their home country to a university in the United States can be challenging—a new language, new ways of learning, and a new home. AU has created a learning-centered environment that promotes academic success, active involvement in campus life, and community engagement.
AU alumni are highly sought after by employers and graduate schools. Recent graduates have been hired by multinational companies and accepted to prestigious professional and graduate schools. Whether a student knows exactly what they want to do after they graduate or is undecided, the breadth of AU’s majors, departments, faculty, and successful alumni will take them where they want to go.
